Special Construction:
West of the Lake Gardens, Manitowoc, WI
Upgrading of parking lots and walkways to accomodate visitors and provide adequate bus and large vehicle parking. A new environmentally friendly parking lot was added with improved entrance and exit to solve parking issues and make it safer for visitors to the Garden and for Mariners Trail users. Experts layed approximately 15,600 square feet of permeable pavers in the walkways and parking areas – pavers that allow water and melting snow to seep through the joints keeping the water on site and reducing runoff and erosion. With an added goal of providing safe and adequate parking, Hamann removed a number of older trees that were at the end of their life cycle. Signature trees were transplanted and final landscaping and seeding to take place in the spring of 2019.
