Late’s Restaurant, Manitowoc, WI
Renovation of Late’s Restaurant in Manitowoc, a long-time eatery for locals and tourists. The building, located at 1924 South 9th Street, underwent both cosmetic and structural improvements. Updates included new windows, siding, ceilings, lighting, wall finishes, and entryways, as well as a new deli case and additional table seating. The restaurant’s square footage was also increased with an addition to the existing building housing new restroom facilities. Construction was completed in less than 3 months.
Open since 1948, Late’s offers dine-in, take-out, catering services and free delivery. A long-time eating destination for locals and tourists alike, Late’s is best known for its butter burgers, hand breaded cheese curds, broasted chicken, lake perch, homemade soups, and authentic custard malts. Personnel from the business attribute its longevity to a long-standing tradition of making as much as possible from scratch. The renovation was planned to allow that tradition to continue for years to come. Late’s remained open during the construction period.
