Manitowoc County Courthouse Facility Improvements

Hamann worked on the final phase of facility improvements at the Manitowoc County Courthouse. Here are some highlights:

– Replaced the windows with new aluminum-clad wood windows, including three openings that were previously blocked in
– Replicated the original windows with historical features
– Raised ceilings and added window wells to expose the entire window on the interior
– New roller shades were added on the new windows
– Replaced a substantial part of the HVAC system
– Replaced the existing pneumatic climate control system with new electronic controls

The final phase also included a remodel of the Branch 3 courtroom:

– Opened the previously block-in window openings behind the judge’s bench
– Full-wall-height, richly paneled sections were added behind the judge’s bench
– Traditional JWC-style top and base molding was added, along with ornamental panel molding on the judge’s bench, witness stand, court clerk reporter desk, and court jury box
– Decorative paneling, moldings, and millwork were added as traditional elements to enhance the appearance and formality of the courtroom
– Columns were painted, and a decorative marble design was added
– The ceiling was raised and replaced
– Complex electrical cables by attorney tables were organized and routed through the new flooring, concealing and protecting them from damage.
